Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 August 2026
This policy explains what Lantera LLC ("Lantera") collects when you use the service or this website, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to have it removed.
Account data
When you create an account we store your name, email address and, where you sign in through Google or Microsoft, the identifier that provider returns. We store a password only as a salted hash, and never in readable form. We also keep basic records of your organisation, its members and their roles.
Connected accounts and access tokens
Connecting Shopify, Reddit or a similar service gives us an access token. Tokens are encrypted at rest with an application key, are requested with the narrowest scopes the feature needs, and are used only to carry out the actions you approve. Disconnecting an account or deleting your organisation removes the token.
Scan data and third-party AI providers
To measure how AI assistants answer questions in your category, we send those questions to third-party AI APIs, currently OpenAI, Google, Anthropic and Perplexity, and store the answers, the sources they cite and the metrics we derive. These questions are about your market rather than about you personally, and we do not send them your customers' personal data.
Those providers process the requests under their own terms. We use their API products rather than their consumer apps, and we label results as API based because the two can differ.
Drafts and published changes
We keep every draft, every edit you make and the final text you approved, along with a record of what was published where and when. That history is what lets us show you before-and-after proof and revert a change.
Website analytics
We use PostHog to understand how this site and the product are used, such as which pages are viewed and which buttons are clicked. We also run Sentry to capture errors so we can fix them. Neither is used for advertising, and we do not sell personal data or share it with data brokers.
Visitor tracking on your site
If you install our tag, we record visits that arrive from AI assistants so we can attribute results. We store the referring surface, the landing page and a visitor key. Deploying that tag on your site is your decision, and your own privacy notice should cover it.
Newsletter and free scan
If you submit the newsletter or free-scan form we store your email address, the page you submitted from, the site you asked us to scan and an approximate country derived from your connection. We use it to send the report you asked for and occasional product updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and asking us to stop is enough on its own.
Aggregated benchmarks
We derive anonymised, category-level statistics about which kinds of changes tend to work. These contain no customer content and nothing identifying a brand, and are only reported across a large enough group that no single customer can be picked out. You can opt out in your settings.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your data while your account is open and for a limited period afterwards so you can return without losing your history. You can ask us at any time for a copy of your data or for it to be deleted, and we will act on that request. Some records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons are retained in anonymised form.
Your rights and contact
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, and to object to some processing. To exercise any of these, or to ask anything about this policy, write to nadim@lantera.io , or to 455 Market St Ste 1940 PMB 438172 San Francisco, California 94105-2448 US.
